I live in Primorskiy Territory. It is a very nice place to live in. I was born here and love my region very much.

Primorye is situated in the south- eastern part of Russia. In the South and East it is washed by the waters of the Japan Sea and the Pacific Ocean. It's territory is about 165.9thousand square kilometres. Primorsky Krai also contains a lot of islands: Russian, Popov, Putyatina,Reyneke, Rikorda, Rimsky-Korsakov, Askold, Smith and others.Three-fourth of the territory is covered with the Sikhote-Alin mountain range.There are about 50 small and large rivers here.

Because of its geographical position my region often suffers different disasters. Natural disasters are catastrophic natural phenomena and processes, emerging as a rule, suddenly and causing a break of people's everyday life.Natural disasters are floods, cyclones, typhoons, tornadoes,earthquakes,forest fires, volcanic eruptions, droughts, etc. Most of all my region suffers from floods, cyclones and earthquakes.There are a lot of volcanoes in Primorye.They are:Salskiy, Babushca,Medvezhiy,Sviyaginskiy,Baranovskiy,etc.But they are not active now.While cyclons occur very often usually in August and September.Last year there was an earthquake near the village Yasnoye.Specialists say that Primorskiy Kray is a seismically dangerous place.
Необходимо быть осторожным.
People who live in dangerous places should always be very careful. Fortunately, now scientists can predict most natural disasters and warn people of possible danger in advance.So I think if people were careful nothing would demage our territory.
