Today the knowledge of English is very important for modern people.We begin studing foreign languages at school and continue improving them at high school.The knowledge of English we can show in diferent competitions which are arranged annually in our region and the country.Here are some of them:British "Bulldog" in St.Peterburg, "Top Translator", "Olympic English", "Fire Starter" (summer camp), Regional competition of scientific- reserch works of students in Vladivostok State University of Economic and Service, Regional competition of Englihs, arranged by American Council.Students, who have great achievements in English, taking part in competitions can get a good chance for their future profession. Many advantage jobs are connected with English. That is why a lot of universities require studing English. School-leavers have to pass English during entrance exams at such institutes as English philology,International cooperation, the institute of foreign languages, the institute of business and economy.
Some of my classmates are eager to improve their English in Engish- speaking countries such as Great Britain, the USA, Australia, Canada. I think it is very interesting to study any language in its native country. But not everybody can have a chance to go abroad because of finacial difficulties.

Knowledge of English has great practical meaning nowadays everywhere: in Internet, tourism,trade, international cooperation, medicine, education.
